Handover readiness and the handover record.

  • Revenue recognition

Recognise at handover, with a previewed, reversible journal.

In the books

What Project Selling posts to Accounting

Collections before handover are a liability to your customer, not revenue. BuilderOne keeps them that way until the unit is handed over.

  • Customer invoices → receivable
  • Receipts → cash or bank, clearing the receivable
  • Handover → contract liability becomes sales revenue
  • Cancellations and returns → refunds payable and forfeiture income
  • Broker commissions → commission expense and payable

Straight answers

Questions buyers ask us

Specific to Project Selling.

Can we print installment invoices and receipts for customers?

The customer ledger, installment plan, price list, agreement addendum and broker statement are printable documents today. Individual invoice and receipt print-outs are not available yet; teams share the customer ledger instead.

Can revenue be recognised over time?

For unit sales, revenue is recognised at handover. Recognition over time is not available for sales.

What happens when a customer cancels?

You raise a cancellation: the forfeiture and refund are calculated, approved, and the refund is paid out as its own document. The unit returns to inventory.

Can the price change after booking?

A booking keeps the commercial terms it was sold on. Changes go through an agreement amendment, so the original stays on record.
