Module · Managed projects

Projects you run for someone else, and the fees they carry

Enrol the project you have been engaged to manage, record the management contract and its service lines, and charge for them in cycles — with approval routing on, each one checked by someone other than the preparer before it is recognised.

Project Management overview: managed projects and active contracts, a charging cycle awaiting approval by a checker other than its maker, PKR 2.7M recognised this period and PKR 450,000 outstanding settlement, with the cycle pipeline by status.

How it flows

One charging cycle

One cycle per period, per priced service, with the source documents behind every figure.

  1. Enrolled project
  2. Contract
  3. Cycle calculated
  4. Cycle approved
  5. Recognised in Accounting · then settled

A cycle records and recognises a charge. It is not a customer invoice.

Capabilities

What Project Management covers

  • Managed projects

The enrolment that records a project you run for an owner, distinct from a project you own.

  • Management contracts

The agreement behind the mandate — term, and the service lines it charges for.

  • Charging cycles

A cycle per period and service calculates the charge from its basis and keeps the evidence behind it.

  • Maker and checker

With approval routing on, a cycle is approved by someone other than the person who prepared it before anything is recognised.

  • Recognition and settlement

An approved cycle is recognised in Accounting against the project; settlement records the cash and does not change the cost.

  • Its own licence

Project Management is licensed on its own, so a construction licence never decides whether you may charge a management fee.

In the books

What Project Management posts to Accounting

Recognition and settlement are separate postings, so what was charged and what has been paid are two different facts.

  • Recognised cycle → the management charge, recorded against the project
  • Settlement → cash or bank, clearing the charge
How connected accounting works
Accounting Integrations: 77 source documents waiting to post across the receipt, payment, accrual and Project Selling queues, each with its counterparty, date, status, amount and a Post action, beside Post all eligible.

Straight answers

Questions buyers ask us

Specific to Project Management.

Does a charging cycle invoice the owner?

No. A cycle records and recognises the management charge in Accounting; it is not a customer invoice. Billing the owner is handled outside this module.

Can the person who prepares a cycle approve it?

Not when approval routing is on: approval must then come from someone other than the maker.
